Crister García (Barcelona, Spain, July 13, 1971) is a renowned composer and music producer with a long career full of successes with both national and international awards.
In his 23-year professional career includes projects for major organizations such as Televisión Española, Telecinco, Mediaset, Cadena SER, Television of Catalonia, APM, 8tv, La Sexta TV, Nintendo, Oxfam Intermon, Sony, Panasonic, Mango, Lays, El Corte Inglés, Universal Music, Sony Music, Warner Music, Blanco y Negro, Roster Music, Clipper's Publishing, Málaga Film Festival, A-Cero Architechts, Grupo Planeta, El Terrat, Barcelona City Hall, Assegur, among many others.
After his beginnings as a performer and conductor of classical music, at the end of the 1990s he created his own company to better demonstrate his creativity and productivity for the recording industry, the audio-visual sector, television, advertising, audio branding, video games and development of new artists.
Crister is known for his talent and skills in finding the leitmotif for each project of any style of music , composed melodies or sounds that engage and excite the viewer on quality productions that become hits. The easy way that his visionary creative mind draws from any detail of the life a music that describes that moment, it is as well profited to the maximum in his role as creator of Audio Branding, sound identity to companies and brands. His ability to work hard has no limits, being perfectionist, reliable and adaptable to any project.
His songs has been awarded in San Francisco and Las Vegas (USA), as well as in the Festival de Tenerife (Spain), and several editions he has been nominated for the Premios de la Música (Spain).
Today it is one of the most prominent composers and producers with more future of the musical and audiovisual scene.
Crister García was born in Barcelona (Spain) on July 13, 1971. Entrepreneur, versatile and creative, throughout his life he has combined in equal parts his passion for music and technology.
In the early 80's, Crister began to show great interest in computer programming with his ZX Spectrum, a path that led him to study as Superior Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Spain), Microsoft ® software, and different languages of computer programming. This preparation, together with his ability to stay up-to-date with new technologies, digital standards and social networks, enabled him to work for over 15 years as a Technical Editor of Multimedia Contents in

, the leading publishing company in Spain and Latin America, and seventh in the world.A long time ago, his aptitude for music became evident when he was only 4 years old, he was easily able to distinguish harmonic sequences and melodies, reproducing them by ear on the organ his parents gave him. However, at this early age his main influence was his mentor, Josep Ribera, clarinettist of the Banda Municipal de Barcelona and music lover of the classical composers, who showed him the secrets of classical music instilling curiosity about this fascinating art.
Crister’s innate skills allowed him to study at a very young age with the conservatory composition, piano, clarinet, and choir, achieving great reports, presaging a brilliant career in his future.
He dedicated more than a decade to Symphonic Bands, in which he managed to be first clarinettist, and later conductor, of the Agrupación Musical de Badía del Vallés (Spain), awarded as the best marching band in 1986. He played around 200 concerts throughout the Spain, Germany, France and Italy. Afterwards, new projects arrived as a pianist and pop singer that allowed him to start his career as a musical arranger.
Due to his dynamism and commitment to culture, he was asked to collaborate with different social entities, notably among others was his election as President of the non-profit Federation of 28 Cultural Organizations of his locality. He performed this duty for several years, where he developed and managed official cultural projects on a wide range of subjects.
His most charitable side was shown again when participating in charity festivals as well as making donations from his own copyrights to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti (2010) for its reconstruction.
In the 1990s, his career took a new direction by fusing music and technology. He worked as music consultant and technician in local radio stations and started his successful career as a professional DJ.
In 1997, his courage and entrepreneurial character allowed him to create his own recording studio CRISTER MUSIC together with the sound engineer and radio DJ, Mikel Vilchez (Los 40 Principales / Flaix FM). They relaunched in Spain the Megamix phenomenon in radio and in the record market. As well, they created numerous creative advertising campaigns for major broadcasting spanish radio stations (Los 40 Principales, Europa FM, Onda Cero, Flaix FM, Radio FlaixBac…).
They also became a worldwide reference as musical editors for Aerobic and Fitness Championships, where prestigious athletes, national and international medallists, trusted them to choose the music and effects for their awarded-winning choreography's.
During this period, they were also known for their work for dubbing production companies as editors and sound mixers of numerous films and TV series.
In 2003 he decided to take a big step in his career, focusing their investments toward the music composition and production for labels and the audiovisual market, creating the content production company GRAN-D PRODUCCIONES and CRISTER GARCIA PUBLISHING together with the composers and sound engineers Miguel Torres (Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA) and Juan Antonio Román (Yamaha Europe). As well as co-productions with prestigious producers Xasqui i Toni Ten.
The dedication and involvement that Crister puts into his projects, together with his commitment to high quality and guaranteed results, allowed them to get the recognition of a long list of distinguished clients, the most important record companies (Universal Music, Sony Music, Warner Mexico, Roster Music, Blanco y Negro, Vale Music…), the most prestigious audiovisual, multimedia and advertising productions (Editorial Planeta, Sony, Nintendo, Lays, Barsa, Mango…).
It was during 2003 when Crister García’s achieved his first international recognition as composer and producer when he was awarded the TABAIBA DE BRONCE (Bronze Tabaiba) in the Festival Internacional de la Canción de Tenerife (Spain) for the song “Nada Es Imposible”, performed by SARA MARTINS. This success would increase a year later when he got the award TABAIBA DE ORO (Gold Tabaiba) for the best song Pop Rock Latina, for the song “Voar Eu Quero”, performed by the Brazilian artist LUA, and an HONOUR DIPLOMA for the song “Ay Papi”, performed by SONIA BELIZE (Contestant of the Spanish TV program “Operación Triunfo”).
In USA he received one of his most prestigious awards, a PLATINUM DISC at the 25th Festival de la Canción Latinoamericana de California 2005, an international event held annually in the city of San Francisco (USA), with participants from the five continents, for the song “Qué Será”, performed by the Chilean artist EVELYN. Some years later, in the 2009 edition, he got the EXCELLENCE AWARD for the best pop song “Junto a Ti”, performed by ANTONIO JOSÉ (EuroJunior Winner 2005). On the same year, this song also won an award in Festivegas, held in the city of Las Vegas (USA). But we must add to these recognitions 11 nominations in the Music Awards (Spain), (Premios de la Música): 10 in the 2010 edition, for ANTONIO JOSÉ’s album “Todo Vuelve A Empezar”, and one in the 2011 edition, for the song performed by JOLIE, “Irresistible”.
Among all the successful commercial songs created by Crister, special recognition goes to the song "Rebelde en libertad" a single from Radikal (2007), the fifth album by the artist NATALIA (Operación Triunfo). The song became one of his biggest successes so far in Spain. As well, among his editorial catalogue there are some fabulous songs from the Spanish rock-flamenco and social phenomenon D'CALLAOS.
During 2014 increase his international projection, with the prestigious producer Jordi Cubino. He composes and produces some important projects for a Sony London for the stars…
Due to his technical knowledge and premonition that the future of music was linked to the Internet, since 2009 he specializing his skills in Promotion, Diffusion of Content, Digital Marketing and Social Networks in order to apply them to his company which takes its original name, CRISTER MUSIC, and specializes in composition and production for television, films, advertising and video games.
In 2009, he gets his first work for a TV series in prime-time as the composer of the soundtrack and the catchy tune of “Pelotas” (La 1 - RTVE.es), directed by the Goya award winners, José Corbacho and Juan Cruz.
Since then he has been collaborating and composing numerous tunes, music and themes for the major audience leaders networks and television productions in Spain: RTVE, Televisió de Catalunya, Telecinco, Mediaset, 8tv, La Sexta, El Terrat, Alguna Pregunta Mes (APM), Alba Adriàtica (José Luís Moreno), Esport 3, Canal Cutura.es, La 2...
Among his works for television, has to be remarked the tune of the veteran Spanish social program Corazón de… (La 1 – RTVE.es), as well as some of the promotional songs of the reallity TV Show Gran Hermano (Telecinco, Spain) and the sound track of the sitcom Pere I Júlia (TV3.cat – Spain) with the promotional song for the sports channel Esport 3 (TV3.cat - Spain), the theme of the leading TV Sports Talk Show Efectivament (TV3.cat / ESPORT 3 – Spain), the music and themes of the entire private Channel 8tv (Grupo Godo - Spain) and its flagship TV magazine news 8 al dia amb Josep Cuní, also the funny editing music for the leader TV Comedy Show APM Sessions (TV3.cat – España), or his innovative musical bet for TV News theme of Telenoticies 2014 (finalist TV3.cat - 3/24 - Spain)
As documentary film, soundtracks for winning Viu en 3D for 3D cinema, or Grandes Tesoros de la Arqueología y Grandes Enigmas del Mundo (Ed. Planeta – History Channel). His recognition has led him to be jury member for 3D Film Music Fest (2012 and 2013 Editions)
Among his creations of Audio Branding and publicity remarks the new image of the Insurance Leader Company Assegur (Andorra), promotional campaign for Oxfam Intermon, publireports for the prestigious architects Joaquin Torres y Rafael Llamazares of A-Cero Architects or for the candy brand La Casa. For videogames has to remark: Nintendo 3DS, El Juego del saber – Corticoles (El Corte Inglés), and for Multimedia has to point: Gran Enciclopedia Multimedia Planeta (from 2005 to 2014), História do Brasil, Enciclopedia de México and Grande Temática Portuguesa.
Crister García has published more than 800 musical works; almost 1,000,000 copies of them have been sold, with their quality and originality being popular with the public. As well as artist, composer and publisher, since 2017 he runs his own record label, CRISTER MUSIC.
His interest and passion for music is not only reflected in what has been previously written, but for 23 years now continues every weekend, working as a disc jockey and expert advisor for record companies and mainstream music publishers (music for the masses). He manages one of the leading clubs in the city of Barcelona (Spain), playing every week to allow his enthusiastic and loyal audience to enjoy the music.
Crister García has come a long way, but his curiosity for learning, innovate and excite still grows. His dream is still alive and he imbues his extensive experience in every new project…because he knows that with effort and perseverance all dreams can come true.
